16 October 2008, New York - Throughout its history, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) has recognized and honored the shopping centre industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, as well as outstanding examples of design and development throughout the world through its Global Awards programs. As part of the shopping centre industry’s premier awards competition, ICSC is pleased to announce that VivoCity, Singapore, received a silver award in its inaugural Asia Shopping Centre Awards competition. The 2008 ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards are designed to recognize outstanding achievement in marketing and design and development of retail properties and were open

VivoCity received its award in the sales promotion and events/marketing category for its “VivoCity’s Sparkling Christmas 2007” program. In celebration of Christmas 2007, the mall was transformed into an awesome Christmas shopping destination where shoppers were wowed by the amazing display of the 101 foot tall man-made Christmas tree complete with bright twinkling lights. The theme was set to depict VivoCity as the “Sparkling” destination, aptly positioning VivoCity as the iconic shopping and entertainment hub with the largest offerings.
VivoCity is owned by Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd. and is managed by CapitaLand Retail Limited. Professional recognition for this award was given to Chang Yeng Cheong, Deputy General Manager, Jasmine Oh, Marketing Communications Manager, Huey Huey Miin, Senior Marketing Communications Executive, Novia Yeo, Senior Marketing Communications Executive, and Stan Tay, Senior Marketing Communications Executive, all of VivoCity/VivoCity Pte. ICSC announced the winners of the 2008 ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards during a
gala awards ceremony yesterday during ICSC’s Asia Expo, Cotai, Macao.
Winners of the 2008 ICSC Asia Shopping Centre Awards are automatically entered into ICSC’s Global Awards program for marketing (ICSC MAXIs Awards) and design and development (ICSC International Design and Development Awards). Winners are also eligible to receive a Global “Best-of-the-Best” Award which will recognize the shopping centre industry’s most cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, throughout the world. These awards will be given during a gala awards ceremony at ICSC’s annual convention, RECon, being held May 17-20, 2009.
