Beauty of China performances and unique oriental crafts take centre stage as VivoCity offers a unique shopping and gifting experience for the festive season
21 December 2011, Singapore – VivoCity, Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle destination, will immerse its shoppers with a series of enriching cultural experiences as part of its celebrations to usher in the Year of Dragon. In partnership with Golden Travel Services, VivoCity will present the finest Chinese craftsmanship and live artistic performances in the weeks ahead. In addition, a host of delightful shopping treats await shoppers as they prepare to welcome a prosperous and auspicious lunar new year.
Take the opportunity to spruce up your home with exquisite oriental gifts at the Art of China Showcase where an array of unique arts and crafts including Tibetan handicrafts, Nantong Porcelain Arts and Scholar’s Four Jewels will be displayed. Be inspired by the live Chinese painting and calligraphy demonstrations from 6 January to 19 February 2012 at Central Court A & B and South Avenue on Level 1. A Feast of Chinese Performance Arts at the Amphitheatre (7 – 29 January 2012)
Soak in the rich heritage of Chinese performance arts at VivoCity as numerous award-winning troupes from the Anhui, Guangdong-Huizhou, Nantong and Inner Mongolia regions of China will perform at the Amphitheatre on Level 3. Be captivated by the performers as they present acrobatic and kung-fu acts as well as cultural song and dance performances. There will be two performances each day at 6.30pm and 8pm. Please refer to Appendix B for the performance details.
On 31 January 2012, catch Kuan San Tang Dragon & Lion Dance Troupe, a renowned lion dance troupe who will perform gravity defying stunts at the North Court on Level 1 to bring good luck and prosperity to all shoppers. Admission to all the performances is free.
Festive Treats for One and All!
Shoppers will stand a chance to walk away with $15,000 worth of jewellery with a minimum spend of $30 (in a single receipt) as part of the Precious Jewels Lucky Draw which will run from 6 January to 15 February 2012.
